Bipasha wants Atif to sing for her

Cut back to 2008; picture Bipasha Basu in a yellow sundress, frolicking on a boat (or was it a café?) with a follicle-replaced Akshay Khanna, who lip-syncs the words to the song that became a huge, huge hit with the masses for that year, as far as love songs go. The song was the later discovered to be plagiarized tune ‘Pehli Nazar Mein’, and the singer of that song was Atif Aslam, who, love him or hate him, is an absolute sensation at home and abroad.

Now, Atif may have made some really dicey choices about his career across the border of late, for instance, doing all the songs for Prince – It’s Showtime, plus all their remixes and what not, but there is no denying that he has a huge fan following. Just his official fanpage on Facebook has gained up to 7,56,787 fans since it was fired up earlier this year.

And as we just discovered, Atif doesn’t just make it to the favourites on our playlists, he is actually the one revving up Bipasha Basu for her day ahead as well. “Starting my day with Atif Aslam’s best songs - playing loudly in my car on my way to location,” Bips tweeted a couple days back. “Wish he would sing all these songs just for me.”

Get in line Bipasha! There are millions of us who want our crack of dawn moment to feature Atif contemplatively humming ‘Hum Kis Gali’. Till then, throw on your Doorie CDs and let your Atif poster out of the cupboard to get your daily dose of Atif Aslam.
